Québec as unauthorized location?

Hi there, how could Québec be in the unauthorized location, since this is a province where it's superseded by the Federal landscape of Canada as the main country?

    Hi Armand,

    The exclusion is not a Devpost policy, but rather a restriction we are forced to implement due to the legal situation regarding skill based contests (i.e. hackathons) in Quebec law. We wish the situation were different and we're sorry if you're affected by this restriction.

    Skill based contest? I am not too sure what this mean, if the concerns is about location, not skills. Does this mean that, people in Québec does not have skills, or you consider they don't?

    Sorry for any confusion. According to international competition laws, hackathons are skills-based contests and Quebec has stringent restrictions on skills-based contests that we are unable to allow residents of Quebec to participate in our hackathons. We wish this were a different story and hope it will change in the future. We're sorry if this affects you.
