ADK API & Gemini API – Free or Chargeable?
Hello everyone,
I’m currently working on my project for the ADK Hackathon and planning to use Agent Development Kit (ADK) and Gemini API within VS Code, since my Google Cloud access is restricted due to a previous issue.
I wanted to clarify: Are ADK API and Gemini API free to use, or do they require payment for certain tiers? From my research:
- Gemini API offers a free tier with lower rate limits, but advanced features and higher usage require payment.
- ADK is flexible and modular, optimized for Gemini but also deployment-agnostic, meaning it can run locally or on other cloud platforms.
I’m coordinating with the Google team to resolve my access issue, but in the meantime, I’d appreciate insights from anyone who has experience using these APIs outside of Google Cloud.
